Bio-Security

We were lucky enough to learn all about Good Bugs and Bad Bugs when Emma visited our school. We met all sorts of nasty pests as well as the good bugs that help to protect cotton crops from the nastiest. It’s a delicate balance.

On a larger scale, effective biosecurity, this balance, can keep Australia free from many of the pests that affect plant industries overseas. Strict biosecurity practices can limit the effect of endemic pests by maintaining area freedom or minimising their impacts and spread. Day-to-day, biosecurity concerns inform a range of farm management practices and activities.
